Merry Christmas!

I haven been wanting to write several posts but have lacked the time to sit down and devote myself to this task. Everything is wrapped and packaged up for the car ride home, P*nske truck is loaded with moving boxes to store at our parents house during our move and the house is spotless for today's showing. Hopefully I will have a little more time to devote to this blog while visiting my family next week. We got her pictures taken at Target last week as our first family photo shoot to welcome her home. In the meantime my baby girl turned two months old on Sunday!! She had her two month appointment on 12/22 and weighed in at 13 lbs 6 ounces and 23 inches! What a growing little girl we have on our hands! She is smiling more every day and starting a little chuckle which is so cute. She continues to sleep through the night but does wake early in the morning but is able to fall back asleep on her own. She got meet Mimi and Pappy last weekend for a quick visit since a snowstorm hit resulting in them leaving earlier than expected. We are so totally in love with this little girl...she has turned our world upside down with that cute smile. We have had continuing contact with the birthmom and we feel very blessed to have her in our lives. She is so open and realistic with her expectations and feelings. I am pleasantly surprised that is has been so easy for all of us. We often email and chat on facebook....which seems the easiest for all parties involved. We are talking about a visit after the holidays....when ever she is ready. She mailed me all the hospital stuff....footprints...name card...she said that she knew we would be in her life forever and that she felt that we should have them. Words can't explain how thankful we are of her and our little angel. I get tears in my eyes everytime I think of the gift God has sent us. Truly amazing!

Dearest Leah -
This week you have figured out how to copy mommy. You enjoy smiling and cooing and sticking your toungue out in the mornings. It is so funny watching all of your new faces and watching your personality emerge. This week you got to meet Nana and Papa. They loved meeting you and can't wait to see you again over Christmas. They are so happy you are here and think you are the cutest little baby.
You also love when I put you down for a diaper change. As soon as the pants are off you come alive! You love being naked..which is so funny to me. You also enjoy bath time...never crying.
You are sleeping through the night...on average from 10pm to 7-8 am. Since we are moving this helps mom a lot and gives her time to pack and clean for open houses.
You are really strong this week and love sitting in the upright position. You need to be supported but you are getting really good at holding your head up. You love looking around and seeing what is going on.
Leah we are so happy you are here. We love seeing your personality come alive and watching you grow and change each day. You have made us the happiest parents.
Love, mom

Dearest Leah -

This week you have found that you can put your fingers in your mouth. It was so funny watching you sucking your thumb and fingers. You weren't able to keep them in your mouth for long and after awhile you became frustrated that they keep falling out. You also decided to change your sleep pattern a bit this week and wake up at 4am instead of your usual time of 7am. I'm not so sure that I like this new change and I'm hoping you get back to your old schedule. You have been eating more so maybe you are in a growth spurt. The day after you came home I took you to the doctor and you weighed 11 lbs 14 ounces....I can't imagine you are having another growth spurt!!

Mom and dad are so happy that you are finally home with us. We love seeing you grow and change each day. You love interacting with us and are smiling more and more each day. You spend your time sleeping, eating, playing in your play mat or on your tummy. You have discovered the TV and love to stare at the screen saver on the computer.

You are truly a gift from God, our heaven sent little girl. We love you soo much!!

Love Mom
